ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW: CHEMICAL PEEL
To qualify for a chemical peel you must meet the following:
1 year off accutane
Discontinue Retin A 7-10 days prior to treatment
Not have Allergy to asprin
Not have compromised skin
No Serious medical condition
No medications for type 2 diabetes, chemo, or lupus
No active cold sores or lesions
No Immediate post cosmetic procedure
No facial waxing for 72 hours.
Chemical Peel Contraindications:
Active infection
Fitzpatrick III - VI
Phenol based peels in patients with renal or hepatic disease
History of an allergic reaction to peels
Active treatment with isotretinoin
ONE WEEK PRIOR TO PEEL:
Discontinue any topical prescriptions or any products containing retinol or vitamin a.
Avoid waxing or any form of hair removal.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds.
Do not receive botox or dermal fillers.
Do not have another facial treatment.
DAY OF PEEL:
Do not use any AHAs, BHAs, or Benzoyl Peroxide.
Stop any exfoliating products.
MEN: do not shave.
POST PEEL:
DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCTS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN APPROVED.
Avoid direct sun, and extreme heat or cold.
Discontinue AHA products for 72 hours. Regular routine may commence after peeling is complete or 6 weeks if on a treatment cycle.
Use hydrating products to encourage new healthy cell growth.
Use sunscreen
NO peeling, flaking, scratching, or picking the peel!!!
